Jugal Kishore Purohit
As the CEO, President and Chairman of Purohit Holdings, Inc., Mr. Jugal Kishore Purohit serves as Purohit Holdings' leader in assuring the company's strong commitment to the cities in which the organization invests. A graduate of the YMCA Institute of Technology, near New Delhi, India with Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mr.Purohit immigrated to the United States in 1983 after a successful tenure with Alcobex Metals, a leading brass and copper product manufacturer in India with annual sales exceeding $40 million . He launched his career in the United States as a mechanical engineer and plant manager for Air Balance Inc., a producer of electric fire dampers near Augusta, Georgia, where he supervised a team of over 200 employees and an annual turnover of approximately $20 million.
Mr. Purohit continued this job for many years until his entrepreneurial spirit and desire for financial independence inspired him to apply his high quality standards to mastering performance in the hotel industry. In the early 1990's, Mr. Purohit formed a predecessor to Purohit Holdings to serve as a value driving hospitality investment, operating, and development organization to invest family capital in the lodging industry. Since that time, Mr. Purohit has owned, developed, and operated over 35 hotels worth almost $100 million. Mr. Purohit believes Purohit Holdings' success is predicated upon team members being united around our quality mission. To that end, Mr. Purohit believes that Purohit Holdings must continue to ensure the company provides performance incentives and personal growth opportunities for team members because loyal team members enable loyal guests.
Chandra Kala Purohit
As the Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Purohit Holdings, Mrs. Chandra Kala Purohit serves as Purohit Holdings' principal in charge of the day to day hotel operations and assures the company maintains its strong commitment to providing our guest with a comfortable and satisfactory experience. Mrs. Purohit is a graduate of New Delhi University where she received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Industrial Psychology. Prior to joining Purohit Holdings, Mrs. Purohit was a homemaker who raised her two sons. Since the formation of the predecessor to Purohit Holdings, Mrs. Purohit has served an invaluable role in directing the results and guidance of the increasing hotel portfolio, as well as actively seeking out new opportunities for the company to provide value-added services.
Shekhar Purohit
Shekhar Purohit is the Asia Pacific Leader for Executive Compensation and Corporate Governance for Hewitt Associates where he specializes in identifying the drivers of shareholder value creation and their relationship to performance management, strategy execution, and total rewards. Shekhar works closely with senior management and board of directors to improve the focus, direction, and performance of the executive and employee populations. He develops value-based compensation programs that align the interests of shareholders and management. Shekhar serves public, private, and family-owned clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, commercial and investment banking, advertising, hospitality and gaming, healthcare, insurance services, building materials, and high technology.
Shekhar is also a popular speaker and commentator, appearing as an expert in major media including BusinessWeek, Crains Business Review, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, Shekhar is monthly guest speaker on a nationally syndicated business news show in Chicago. Prior to joining Hewitt, Shekhar was with the Delves Group, Towers Perrin and SCA Consulting. Shekhar holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. Shekhar is also the co-founder and Vice President of a non-profit educational organization in Boston which focuses on providing HIV/AIDS education for developing countries.
Ravi Purohit
Ravi Purohit is a Vice President and the Assistant General Counsel at an infrastructure private equity firm headquartered in New York. Previously, Ravi was an attorney associated with the law firm of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom and specialized in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions. During law school, Ravi acted as an extern for Judge Sonia Sotomayor in the US Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. He has also worked at the United Nations helping the Coalition for the International Criminal Court draft evidentiary and protocol rules for the court's initial formation. In addition, he served at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, where he focused on foreign policy and the Indian subcontinent.
Ravi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics, magna cum laude, from Emory University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He also holds a law degree (Juris Doctorate) from Columbia University School of Law in New York, New York where he was a three-time Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, recipient of the Center for Public Interest Law Award, and the lead Articles Editor for the Columbia Business Law Review.
